Graduated ❤

.I graduated from the Université Catholique de Louvain la Neuve with a Grande Distinction. Life as a grown up is starting, but before that I'm off to Italy for some quality time home

Today Quentin turns 23. As it's raining and most of our friends are on vacation now, we're celebrating baking blueberry muffins, playing Guitar Hero on the Wii, watching movies under the blanket while eating butter popcorn and marshmallows.

To do #2 this weekend

TO DO:

1. Sleep till late. I'm so tired. I had my internship défense this week, and headed straight to work right after. And today before going to work I also had a job interview *fingerz crossed*

2. Have one hell of a breakfast. I had cold milk and cornflakes for the past 6 days. I don't even LIKE cornflakes.
3. Wear my pink skirt. I don't know what to wear it with as it's always either too cold or to hot (warm rather than hot). (BTW is this not Dylana Suarez? I luvvv her)

4. Go to Place du Jeu de balle for the flea market in order to buy staples: vintage cups, vintage books, vintage prints, vintage frames, vintage mirrors and what not. Staples. As I do not have a flat to put these things into just yet, I consider it a smart move.

5. Play Guitar Hero till my fingers fall apart.

6. Take long walks with Quentin in the countryside. Eat apples. Eat blackberries. Pick flowers.
7. Bake delicious blueberry muffins. (mine will never look like that)

8. Watch this. Again. And again.

So yeah, looks like I've got one pretty busy weekend coming up :D

Terug naar België

.And so I've traded a French metropolis for Belgian countryside. I've come back to Belgium for a while, in order to work on and hand in my dissertation and internship report. The dissertation almost killed me, I wrote 31k words in two weeks time. The things you can do under pressure.
.These pictures were taken right after I handed in my dissertation and internship report (hence the devastated looks) in a field right beside my university. Louvain-la-Neuve is not really Paris.
.I miss Paris. I am considering moving back there for work, but work opportunities in France suck. I don't feel like being an exploited, under-paid intern until I am 30.
.I miss all of my friends I left in France. Some of them will soon come see me in Bruxelles, and some in Italy. I am happy to be able to spend time with my Belgian friends, though :)
.In September I'll be in Italy for at least a month, in order to remind my family they have a daughter :)
.In September I'll graduate, and I still do not know what to do. I am sure I won't embark in yet another year of studies, as many of my friends are doing. So I'm looking for a job, and for a flat or a studio. Not living with Quentin after two years we're used to living together will feel weird.
.If only weather in Belgium could be a little bit more merciful... I was glad I did not buy my last-minute ticket for Pukkelpop (buy from a friend, as tickets were sold out months ago!), but I am really sorry for the families of those who lost their lives during the storm. Some of my friends were there, and I was super worried for them; they came home full of scratches (and even a broken arm), but at least they've come home. It is absurd how something so nice as a festival can turn out so badly.
.I'll go back to my defense presentation now, I hope to finish my degree at least with a distinction!

Do it in Paris # 6: Rue Sainte Anne

.Normally, there is one and only one place for all your asian food cravings in Paris: Rue Sainte Anne. This street answers to your every need, from sushi, passing from all things Thay, going to Vietnamese, or to Chinese, or udon, or noodles, or teppanyaki, omuraisu and ramen. Personally, I'm a huge fan of ramen. (yeah I am used to having sushi once a week as there is this cutest super cheap and super yummy place right next to where I work :D)
.If you have no idea what ramen is, then you probably are not a diehard Naruto or Ranma fan (which I am sure is the case, as apparently I am the only nerd around here). Well you can make yourself an idea here:
.If you still have no idea what that thing is, then here's the experts' answer:
It is a Japanese noodle dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat- or fish-basedbroth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork (チャーシュー chāshū?), dried seaweed (海苔 nori?),kamabokogreen onions, and occasionally corn. (why thank you Wikipedia)

.In Paris, if you ask around, they'll tell you that the one good place to have ramen is Higuma. Quite literally the best ramen in town. I am sure that if they combined design to their delicious dishes, then you'd find yourself waiting in line for hours instead that for a normal 25-40 minutes (normal in Paris, not normal in Brussels or in Padova -.-) They also offer menus with a number of gyoza (a sort of ravioli, and once again, Higuma's ravioli rock my socks) and then the ramen or dish of your choice.
.My favourite thing to order is shoyou ramen.

Do it in Paris # 5 : ComicCon & Japan Expo!

This weekend I embraced the nerd side of life. Full force.
I know I may not look like one (or do I?), but I am a super nerd. I have my very own World of Warcraft PG, a level 75 Blood Elf (75 because I still have a life outside Azeroth), my super manga collection (which is waiting for me in Italy, scans will do for the moment), I am a diehard fan of all things Oblivion-Assassin's Creed-KOTOR AND I can name all Naruto characters without hesitation.

The kind of things I should put on my CV.

So this weekend we fought the urge to stay in bed and headed to the magic world of Paris Nord Parc des Expositions and headed to ComicCon France and JapanExpo. Who? Le boyfriend and me, basically. My friends were not as enthusiastic as I thought they would be. I should change friends :D

Things I did:

- Befriended evil Akatsuki members (if you understand this, you're a nerd)

- Seen cool One Piece stuff
- Random cool stuff

- Quentin had fun, too
And to top it off...
