Far from the madding crowd ♥ Pied-de-poule Pinafore dress

Ancora una volta, sono distante dal chiasso delle settimane della moda.
Circondata da post-it, il mio organizer a stampa floreale vivente di vita propria, divisa tra una conf-call con l'India e l'ultimo e-blast per la zona DACH, devo dire che non é difficile.

Troppo distanti, queste sfilate, dalla vita vera. Ma ormai anche dal sogno.

E cosi' eccomi. Molto meno ragazza alla moda, e molto più assetata di vita, di sogni, e di emozioni vere.


EN. Once again, I find myself far away from FW's madding crowd.
Surrounded by post-its, my floral-print organizer living a life of its own, making time between a conference call with India and the latest e-blast for the DACH zone, it couldn't really be otherwise.
The catwalks are so far from real life, nowadays. And -dare I say it- from dreams, too.
So here I am. Slightly less hungry for fashion, and slightly more thirsty for life, dreams, and true emotions.

.Yo! Sono di nuovo relativamente in salute (la mia condizione standard di salute prevede comunque qualche malanno), ho da poco smesso di studiare, e quindi eccomi qui, vestita da principessa (seeeh) per andare a casa di uno dei migliori amici di Quentin, nonchè il mio suo amico preferito: Tanguy. Lui è un ganzo per mille motivi (cita The Catcher in the Rye a memoria come me, il che gli fa guadagnare più e più punti amicizia ai miei occhi).
.Stasera quindi al programma zakouskis, e poi chissà, il quartier du Châtelain  et du Bailli, la Place Flagey, Saint-GIlles, oppure apparentemente fanno qualcosa al Bois de la Cambre (che è apparentemente agghindato in tutt'altro modo che per i Jeux d'Hiver). O perchè no, il cimitière d'Ixelles (è solo un nome eh, niente riti voodoo!) (ma sarebbe stra simbolico per la fine dell'anno hehe). Insomma, spero in qualcosa di più dei soliti Bourse, Grande Place o Halles Saint-Géry.
.Lo ammetto, io odio il Capodanno, meno di quanto odi il Ferragosto ma siamo la. Però le boyfriend non vuole fare il pantofolaio e io ho un bel vestito, quindi tanto vale. Ma prima o poi vincerò io.

Yo! I am more or less back in shape, I just stopped studying, so here I am, dressed as a princess (rrright) to go to one of the best friends of Quentin's place (he is actually my favorite friend of his), Tanguy. He is a cool guy for many reasons (he quotes The Catcher in the Rye by heart like me, which earned him a friendship more and more points to my eyes. He's a regular nerd, basically).

.Tonight it will be zakouskis, and then who knows, the quartier du Châtelain or du Bailli , Place Flagey, Saint-Gilles, or there's apparently something going on at the Bois de la Cambre (which apparently is decked out in a completely different way than for Jeux d'Hiver). Or why not, cimitière d'Ixelles (it's just a name, eh, no voodoo!) (but it would be strategic for the symbolic end of the year hehe). Well, I hope in something more than the usual Bourse, Grand Place or Halles Saint-Géry.
.I admit it, I hate New Year's Day. But le boyfriend does not want to stay at home in his joggers and I have a pretty dress, so why not. But sooner or later I will win.

Je vais relativement bien en matière de santé, j'ai arrêté d'étudier pour aujourd'hui, et bof, je suis là, vêtue comme une princesse (ouais) pour aller chez un des meilleurs amis de Quentin, ainsi que mon-son ami préféré: Tanguy. Il est cool pour de nombreuses raisons (il cite The Catcher in the Rye par coeur comme moi, qui lui a valu des points d'une amitié de plus en plus à mes yeux).

.Ce soir c'est partie de zakouskis et puis, qui sait, le quartier du Châtelain et du Bailli (qui est bien sympa pendant l'année donc y'a pas de raisons que ce soit merdique le 31), la Place Flagey, Saint-Gilles et sinon, apparemment y'a aussi une soirée au Bois de la Cambre (autre qu'aux Jeux d'Hiver, je vous rassure tout de suite...). Et pourquoi pas non plus le cimetière d'Ixelles (symbolique pour l'enterrement de l'année 2010...)? Bref, on a le choix et ce choix ne se limite pas qu'aux éternels Bourse, Grand' Place, Halles Saint-Géry etc...

.Je l'avoue, je déteste le Nouvel An et le reveillon. Mais le boyfriend ne veut pas rester en jogging et j'ai une jolie robe, donc on y va. Mais tôt ou tard je vais gagner.

dress - Primark

.Questo è probabilmente il vestito più bello che ho. Adoro la gonna a palloncino, la vita stretta, il fiocco strategico, e lo scollo anni '60. Il solo problema è che ogni volta che lo metto mi sembra di essere 'troppo vestita'. Sarà il bianco, saranno i fiori in pizzo... non vorrei dare l'impressione di essere in ritardo per un matrimonio (il mio). Ciò nonostante lo adoro, e cerco di usarlo (ovviamente tentando di 'smorzare' l'effetto bambolina) ogni volta che posso. Sabato l'ho usato per una passeggiata pomeridiana a Bruxelles, e per una tappa al posto più paradisiaco del Belgio: il salon de thé AM Sweet. L'ho abbinato a una giacca di pelle nera e ad antichi biker boots Benetton con calzettoni sotto al ginocchio rigio antracite, e alla mia inseparabile shopper grigia di MbMJ.

E voi avete nei vostri armadi dei pezzi che vi sembrano troppo ma che adorate comunque alla follia? :)

EN. .This must be the prettiest dress I own. I love the bubble skirt, the tiny waist, the strategic ribbon and the 1960's neckline. The only problem is that whenever I wear it I always have the feeling I am overdressed. Probably it's the shiny white colour, or the lace flowers... but I wouldn't want to give the impression I am late for a wedding (my own). In spite of that I love it, and I try to wear it (obviously dressing it down) as much as I can. Saturday it was my fellow in an afternoon walk in Brussels, with a stop at the most paradisiac place in Belgium: the tea room AM Sweet. I wore it with a black leatherish jacket and ancient (lol) Benetton biker boots, with knee-lenght dark grey socks and my beloved grey MbMJ shopper bag.

How about you? Do you hide in your closet pieces that seem too dressy but that you love no matter what? :)

FR. .Celle ci doit être la plus jolie robe que je possède. J'adore la jupe à bulle, la taille serrée, le noeud stratégique et le décolleté années '60. Le seul problème c'est que chaque fois que je la porte, j'ai toujours la sensation que je suis 'trop' habillé. Probablement c'est la couleur blanc brillant, ou les fleurs en dentelle ... mais je ne voudrais pas donner l'impression que je suis en retard pour un mariage (le mien). En dépit de cela, je l'aime, et j'essaie de la porter (évidemment en cherchant à la nuancer) autant que je peux. Samedi, c'était pour un après-midi à se promener à Bruxelles, avec un arrêt à l'endroit le plus paradisiaque de la Belgique: le salon de thé AM Sweet. Je l'ai porté avec une blouson noir en 'cuir' et des anciennes biker boots Benetton, avec des chaussettes au genou gris foncé et mon bien-aimé sac gris MbMJ.

Et vous? Vous cachez aussi dans votre placard des pièces qui semblent trop, mais que vous aimez, peu importe quoi?
