Surviving the cold - Beauty Favourites

Fermatevi. Preparatevi con calma una tazza di quel mélange di tè tutto particolare, un po' speziato forse, o dalle note floreali. Sedetevi, abbandonatevi all'abbraccio di una coperta. Lasciate che il profumo del tè vi inebri per un po', e dimenticatevi del mondo, delle sue pretese, delle cose da fare, del telefono che suona, del cellulare che squilla. Pensate a voi stesse, per un attimo. Quand'è stata l'ultima volta che vi siete davvero prese cura di voi? Non per uscire con qualcuno, non per essere perfette a quell'appuntamento di lavoro. Per voi stesse. Un bagno caldo, con tante bolle, l'acqua frizzante e profumata da quel bagnoschiuma che avete scelto accuratamente. Una maschera sui capelli, un velo di crema sul viso. Quella musica che vi parla, che fa suonare il vostro cuore. Una passata di quello smalto che voi amate, e che gli altri non capiscono. Dei vestiti caldi, morbidi, che vi diano quella sicurezza tutta diversa da quella di un paio di tacchi. La sicurezza di essere belle perchè semplici, perchè voi stesse.

Vogliatevi bene. E' l'arma migliore, in qualsiasi battaglia.

EN. Stop. Fix yourself a cup of tea, of that  very special blend, a bit spicy, perhaps, or with soft floral notes. Sit back and surrender to the embrace of a blanket. Let the fragrance of the tea intoxicate you for a while ', and forget the world, forget of all those things to you have to do, of the phone that is ringing, or of the doorbell that rings like it went crazy. Think of yourself, and yourself alone, for a moment. When was the last time you really took care of you? Not to go out with someone, not to be perfect for that work meeting. For yourself. A hot bath with lots of bubbles, sparkling water and scented bubble baths that you have taken the time and the pleasure to choose carefully. A nourishing hair-mask, a thin layer of cream on your face. That song that speaks to you, which makes your heartstrings play. One or two coats of your favourite nail polish of the moment, and that others do not understand. Warm soft, clothes, that give you that confidence entirely different from that of a pair of heels. Rest assured that you are beautiful as you are, simply because you are you.
Love yourself. That's the best weapon in any battle.

E come ogni inverno, al rabbuiarsi delle giornate, che si fanno sempre più umide e gelide, i bleus d'hiver, si fanno sentire. E come ogni inverno, ho voglia di  uscire di casa in un caldo abbraccio, di sentirmi avvolta e protetta, ma senza rinunciare allo stile. E come ogni inverno, un nuovo maglioncino dal tema natalizio si aggiunge alla mia collezione; impossibile resistere ad una ventata di buonumore morbida come l'angora. E come ogni inverno, un oversized cardigan, meglio se neutro, alleato e compagno nelle giornate scandite al ritmo della sottile arte del layering. Meglio se da accoppiare ad una t-shirt morbida come questa di Oysho, in jersey e con inserti in seta- una delle mie new entries favorite. E come ogni inverno, un cappello grigio entra nel mio armadio; l'anno scorso un basco da francesina, quest'anno un Fedora, per ripararmi dalla pioggia che qui a Bruxelles cade incessante. E come ogni anno, qualche novità make up, per illuminare un colorito un po' spento, o mascherare un viso arrossato dal vento. E come ogni inverno, un paio di scarpine da bambola, perse e ritrovate come queste ballerine di velluto rosso H&M, ed un paio di oxfords per sfidare il meteo di Bruxelles durante le mie giornate dai mille impegni, in attesa di trovare i boots perfetti.

Fedele alla mia voglia di cocooning, ecco un new in totalmente a tema. 

.EN And like every winter, together with the darkening days, getting wetter and colder by the hour, the bleus d'hiver keep us company. And like every winter, the want to go out in a warm embrace, to feel surrounded and protected, but without sacrificing style. And like every winter, a new Christmas-themed sweater adds up to my collection; impossible to resist a wave of good mood as soft as angora. And like every winter, oversized cardigans, preferably neutral, become our allies and friends in the days marked by the rhythm of the subtle art of layering, teamed with a t-shirt like this soft one from Oysho, jersey with silk parts-one of my favorite new entries. And like every winter, a gray hat comes in my closet; last year, a frenchie beret, this year, a Fedora hat, which will give me shelter from the rain that falls unceasing here in Brussels. And like every year, some new makeup, to illuminate a grayish complexion, or to mask a face reddened by the wind. And like every winter, a pair of doll shoes, lost and found like these ballet flats in red velvet from H&M, and a pair of brogues to challenge the weather in Brussels during my busy days, waiting to find the perfect boots.
