Warm Inside ♥ New Look flower brogues and Zara ribbon pull

EN. Do you ever want to wear something ridiculously out of season? When it's raining, or snowing, like here, don't you ever feel the need to dress according to you and not the weather, mixing angora and tulle, flower prints and thick woolen scarves? Belgian winter is so dark and gray for my Mediterranean standards, and even though this year we were spoiled by a sweet, mild autumn, now cold is here to stay. And so are rain, snow, wind and whatnot. Staying in is the most sensible thing to do. Belgians are very much in the habit of inviting friends at home, for a day, for a dinner, or a whole weekend. To fight off melancholia, and find in friendship and in the company of those you love that warmth capable of making you forget just how hard the rain is falling. I take advantage of this to make my need for rebellion run free, and wear those flower-print canvas oxfords that I missed so much. Why, with a coup of tea and a few laughs, I am no longer cold.

I was wearing:

Zara pull,

H&M dress worn as skirt,

New Look oxfords,
Ray Ban glasses,
Forever 21 necklace
Essence (white) + Kiko (pink) nail polish.

My favourite pull at the moment - Zara 2010-11 collection

"Sometimes at dusk, when you were trying to relax and not think of the general stagnation, the Garbage God would gather a handful of those choked-off morning hopes and dangle them somewhere just out of reach; they would hang in the breeze and make a sound like delicate glass bells, reminding you of something you never quite got hold of, and never would."
Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary

EN.  It's that time of the year again. Autumn is no longer autumn but not yet winter. I defend myself with capes, hand-knitted scarves, a layer of burgundy nail polish and a cat that purrs on my knees. It is the time of year when I lock myself inin which the bleus d'hiver, those waves of winter melancholy hit me full force. And the cure is always the same: a cup of chai latte, some speculoos, clothing and accessories in light, airy colours, some romantic accessories. And of course waiting for a weekend to spend with Monsieur Quentin
between walks, cookies in the ovenand a film that I love and he hates.
I'm currently (re) reading The Rum Diary, by Hunter S. ThompsonA little in preparation for the film with Johnny Depp, a little to pretend I am where the misty morning in Belgium cannot fend me. It's full of little gems like the quote up there, and it is just waiting for you to open the cover and browse through a few pages to take you away with a warm wind in the Caribbean of the '50sTo let you live without rulesTo get you drunk on rum on a patio of a bar selling hamburgersTo comfort you, reassure you and help you discover that the most successful actions are those where your heart is in it.

New Look

Random shop in Paris

Uniqlo flanel shirt. Oh Uniqlo I miss you so!

.The reason why I am now on a shopping diet. Any kind of shopping. I forbade myself ice cream and gaufres, too.
.This is the result of a month shopping. Partly true, as all the Primark stuff was bought yesterday in Liège.
.I don't know how much wear I'll get of this long skirt, but i lurrrved it and had to have it. Basically when we entered Primark I felt as if the shop was saying sorry for sucking the previous two times I had set foot in there. Luckily I behaved, because when I toured the shop for the first time I had ended up with two full baskets and some items in le boyfriend's.
