Bruxelles, ma belle

EN. I think I mentioned this already here, but when I come back to Belgium after a few days spent at home, where home means mamma-papà-Padova-caffé Carlotta-0km ice cream-Federica-grandparents I bask for a few days in foul moods. I miss the streets I used to know, the way my old patterns used to fit me so well. But I've said this already.
Thank you, Brussels, to have taken the time to remind me some of the reasons that pushed me to go and live 1110 km up north.
I very much hope that these pictures may make you want to discover the tiny streets, the amazing secret beauties of this city. To make you want to try on your own skin the crazy weather that turns from summer to winter and from winter to autumn, and from autumn to spring, in like one hour. Or to just turn off the PC and run outside with a cheap camera and in mind just one thing: live.

IT.

A piccole dosi, chiaramente.

EN. It is when everything is wrapped in the soft breath of the brisk breezewhen temperatures fall, when the days get shorter and the evening sky is tinged with purple hues that Brussels gives the best of itself. Fiery sunrises that make you dream of a day of pale sunshine, resulting instead in rather damp, gray, rainy days. Even the rain has a special charm in the fall and winter of Brussels. In small doses, of course. But the real people of Brussels know how to enjoy life. They know the value of walking holding hands in the Parc de Bruxelles in the timid rays of afternoon sun. They understand the complicity of sharing a very long scarf, or a very small umbrella. They know the the best places to take shelter on the long rainy afternoons. The girls of Brussels know that going out with a dress on a rainy day can make you feel a rebel (who said you have to dress for the weather?), or that wearing a skirt in a sunny day is a small celebration, a silent thanks to this autmn, the milder and nicer autumn in years. Since I have become a bit a girl of Brussels myself, I have been
initiated to the secret little pleasures of life in Belgium. And I could never do without them, now.

I was wearing:
Armani vintage woolen blazer,
Pull and Bear dress worn as skirt,
Zara pull,
Ray Ban glasses,
Casio watch,
Primark satchel bag.

Inside photos were taken at AM Sweet, my favorite tea room.  4, Rue des Chartreux 1000 Brussels.
